Our comic of the week is by the artist Onsmith who is a cartoonist and illustrator living in Chicago. Onsmith’s work is influenced by his deep interest in historic art movements, making incredibly skilled drawings that emit a kind of expressionism with a Chicago twist.
His comics, prints, and illustrations have appeared in The Chicago Reader, The Portland Mercury, Oxford American Magazine, Hotwire Comics (Fantagraphics Books), Vice Magazine, both volumes of Anthology of Graphic Fiction, Cartoons & True Stories, and Lumpen. He is a frequent collaborator with another Lumpen favorite and Marz brewing label artist Paul Nudd. More of his work can be seen at www.onsmithcomics.blogspot.com.
